Simply Lawn is a public-record trust index. Every "verified" status traces back to an official government source: a state contractor board or department of agriculture. We don't accept self-reported information for verification, and businesses can't pay to change their status. Here is the source of record behind each state we've verified.

How current is it?
Each state's records are pulled directly from the source above and refreshed on a rolling basis. Every business profile shows the date its trust report was last checked. Verification reflects what the record said at that time, and states publish different data, so some include insurance and bond status while others publish only a license. For major work, always confirm current status directly with the state.
